Dr. Alain L Fymat is a medical-physical scientist and an educator. He is the current President/CEO and Professor at the International Institute of Medicine and Science with a previous appointment as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Professor at the Weil Institute of Critical Care Medicine. He was educated at the University of Paris-Sorbonne and the University of California at Los Angeles. He was formerly Professor of Radiology, Radiological Sciences, Radiation Medicine (Oncology), Critical Care Medicine, and Physics at several U.S. and European Universities. Previously, he was Deputy Director (Western Region) of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (Office of Research Oversight), and Director of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center and for a time Acting Chair of Radiology at its Loma Linda, California Medical Center. He has extensively published (~ 425 publications including patents, books & monographs, book chapters, refereed articles). As invited/keynote speaker and member of organizing committees of international congresses and symposia, he has lectured extensively across the USA, Canada, Europe, Africa and Asia. He has been the recipient of numerous research grants from government, academia and private industry, and has consulted extensively with these entities. He is a Board member of several institutions and Health Advisor of the American Heart & Stroke Association (Coachella Valley Division, California). He is Editor-in-Chief, Honorable Editor or Editor of 35 medical-scientific Journals. He published more than 37 articles in different journals.

Jacques Rottembourg was born in Lyon, France on 19 May 1942. He studied medicine in Paris between 1961 and 1969,specialising in nephrology in 1973, and has since worked in the specialities of nephrology, cardiology and diabetology. He worked at the department of Nephrology,Jacques Rottembourg, became Director of the heart transplant programme from 1973 until 1988, was the first in Europe to introduce care by dialysis for patients with diabetes in 1973, and also invented the control of ultrafiltration monitor, which is now in every dialysis machine. He also invented the peritoneal dialysis bag in 1978, and was involved in the development of the first computerised dialysis file in 1981. In 1983, Jacques Rottembourg created the first dialysis unit to be used in prisons worldwide. In 1987, he created the first haemodiafiltration and haemofiltration unit, dedicated for care of diabetic patients requiring dialysis. He became Director of a private hemodialysis unit since 1992. Raffaele Pilla, Pharm.D., Ph.D., Doctor Europaeus, received his Master’s degree in Pharmacy at G. d’Annunzio University in Chieti-Pescara, Italy in 2005, where he also served internships at the Cell Physiology Laboratory and Molecular Biology Laboratory. Prior to his degree, he was an Erasmus Student at Faculté de Pharmacie de Reims in Reims, France. He received his Doctor Europaeus in 2010 from Pitié-Salpétrière Institute in Paris, France. He was hired as a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at the University of South Florida in Tampa, on two research grants respectively funded by the Office of Naval Research (US Navy) and Divers’ Alert Network. He has written and lectured widely on his experiences. Dr. Pilla has been involved in ongoing research at the University of South Florida with the use of ketone esters. The initial work, funded by the Office of Naval Research, focused on using ketone esters to prevent CNS oxygen toxicity. Dr. Pilla is working to coordinate efforts in the United States and Italy to expand the ketone ester research to other conditions such as epilepsy and cancer and its use as an alternative metabolic fuel. Dr. Pilla has also served extensively in various international medical missions, orphan and homeless programs, emergency medicine rescue and training, and animal rescue and fostering. The internship at the Clinical Neurophysiology Department at the University Hospital of Rabat, in the framework of the scholarship awarded to me by the IFCN for the year 2017, was enormously beneficial and had an impact on my career. The EEG, ENMG, and Evoked potential are carried out. For this purpose, I learned how to carry out its technics, read and interpret them. During my stay, I had the opportunity to participate in several scientific activities as well as research activities. I participated in 4 advanced courses of the IBRO organized at the University Mohammed V. I also took the opportunity to study and obtain a university degree in ENMG. My challenge now is to popularize clinical neurophysiology in Cameroon. Most of our patients are followed up for ?peripheral neuropathy? without an electrophysiological diagnosis. Even at the level of Central Africa, there is no reference center for Clinical Neurophysiology exploration. The creation of a neurophysiological exploration center will be my first objective, secondly, will educate and inform my colleagues about this field.
